1. About these terms
These terms apply to quotations issued and roofing work carried out by Optimum Roofing, a roofing contractor based in Epping, Essex. They also govern your use of this website. By requesting a quotation or instructing us to carry out work, you accept these terms.
2. Quotations
All quotations are free and carry no obligation. A quotation is valid for 30 days from the date issued unless we state otherwise. Quotations are based on what was visible and accessible at the time of survey. Where work is opened up and hidden defects are found, such as decayed rafters, failed battens or damaged masonry, we will stop, tell you, and agree any additional cost in writing before continuing.
3. Prices and payment
Prices are as stated in your written quotation. Scaffolding, where required, is itemised separately so you can see it clearly. Unless otherwise agreed, a deposit may be requested to cover materials, with the balance payable on completion. Late payment may attract interest under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998 where the contract is between businesses.
4. Scheduling and weather
Roofing is weather dependent. We will give you a start date and keep you informed, but we may need to move dates for safety reasons in high wind, ice or heavy rain. We will not be liable for delay caused by weather, scaffold availability, supplier shortages or any other cause outside our reasonable control.
5. Access and site conditions
You agree to provide safe and reasonable access to the property and to the roof area, including access for scaffolding where needed. Please move vehicles and garden items from the working area before we arrive. We take care around plants, paving and property, but we cannot accept liability for damage to items left in a working area after we have asked for them to be moved.
6. Guarantees
Our workmanship is guaranteed and, on qualifying work, covered by an insurance backed guarantee, which means your cover continues even if the company ceases to trade. Materials carry the manufacturer guarantee that applies to them. Guarantees do not cover damage caused by storm, impact, third party work, structural movement, blocked gutters that have not been maintained, or ordinary wear on an older roof outside the area we worked on.
7. Consumer cancellation rights
Where a contract is agreed at your home or away from our business premises, you have the right to cancel within 14 days under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 without giving a reason. If you asked us to begin work during that period, you must pay for what has been carried out up to the point you cancel. To cancel, tell us in writing at info@optimumroofing.co.uk.
8. Insurance
Optimum Roofing holds £1M public liability insurance. Certificates are available on request before work begins.
9. Liability
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. Subject to that, our liability in connection with any contract is limited to the value of that contract. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss.
10. Complaints
If something is not right, tell us as soon as possible on 07407 079007 or at info@optimumroofing.co.uk. We will respond within 5 working days and aim to resolve matters within 28 days. Coming back to put things right is a normal part of how we work.
11. Website use
The content of this website is provided for general information. Roofing advice published here is general and is not a substitute for an inspection of your own roof. All content, photographs and branding on this site belong to Optimum Roofing or are used with permission, and may not be reproduced without consent.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
