Our commitment
Optimum Roofing wants everyone to be able to use this website, including people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, screen magnification or voice control. We have built this site to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.2 at level AA, and to meet our obligations under the Equality Act 2010.
What we have done
- Every page uses proper HTML landmarks, a single H1 and a logical heading order, so screen reader users can navigate by structure.
- A skip to main content link is the first thing in the tab order on every page.
- All content and functionality can be reached and operated using a keyboard alone, with a clearly visible focus outline on every interactive element.
- Text meets or exceeds a contrast ratio of 4.5 to 1 against its background, and interface components meet 3 to 1.
- Every image carries descriptive alt text, and decorative graphics are hidden from assistive technology.
- Every form field has a visible, correctly associated label. Errors are announced, described in plain words and linked to the field that needs attention.
- The cookie banner moves focus to itself when it opens, can be operated entirely by keyboard, is never a keyboard trap, and is announced to screen readers.
- Animation and movement respect the reduced motion setting in your operating system.
- The site works at 400 per cent zoom and reflows to a single column without loss of content or function.
- Touch targets are at least 24 by 24 pixels with adequate spacing.
Known limitations
Where a third party map or video is embedded, that content is provided by another company and its accessibility is outside our direct control. Such content only loads after you have accepted the relevant cookie category, and we always provide the same information in text as well.
