What velux installation involves

A Velux transforms a dark loft into a usable room, and the difference between one that lasts and one that leaks is entirely in the flashing kit and the timber trimming around the opening.

We trim the rafters properly, use the manufacturer flashing kit matched to your tile or slate profile, and finish the internal reveal so it is ready for plaster. Manual, blackout blind ready and electric options.

Do I need planning permission for a roof window?

Usually not on a rear roof slope, as it falls within permitted development. Front elevations, listed buildings and conservation areas need checking. We advise at quote stage.
