What roof ventilation involves
Black mould on rafters, damp insulation and water dripping from the underside of the felt are almost never a leak. They are condensation, caused by warm moist air from the house reaching a cold roof with nowhere to escape.
We calculate the ventilation the roof actually needs, then fit eaves vents, over fascia vents, tile vents or a ventilated dry ridge so the air moves. It is a modest job that prevents a very expensive one.

01992 245604Is water dripping in my loft a leak or condensation?
If it appears across a wide area on cold mornings and there has been no rain, it is condensation. A leak is localised and follows rainfall. We can tell you which within one visit.
Will more loft insulation stop condensation?
No. Insulation without ventilation usually makes it worse, because the roof space gets colder. The two have to be designed together.
