Optimum Roofing carries out roof insulation across Epping, Loughton, Brentwood, Harlow, Chelmsford and the rest of Essex, East London and Hertfordshire, within 40 miles of Epping. Warm roof and cold roof insulation upgrades that cut heating bills and stop condensation. Quotes are free and written, we carry £1M public liability insurance, and completed work is covered by an insurance backed guarantee.
What roof insulation involves
Around a quarter of the heat in an uninsulated house escapes through the roof. Bringing insulation up to current standards is one of the highest return improvements you can make to a property.
We install at rafter level for warm roofs and loft conversions, and at joist level for cold roofs, always with the ventilation path preserved so you do not trade a heating bill for a damp problem.
What you get
- Rafter level insulation for warm roofs and conversions
- Joist level upgrades to current recommended depth
- Ventilation path preserved at the eaves
- Combined with ventilation work to prevent condensation

Common questions
Questions about roof insulation
Straight answers about quotes, timescales, insurance and how we work.
Question not answered here?
Call and ask. You will get a straight answer from someone who does the work, not a script.
01992 245604How much loft insulation should I have?
Current guidance is 270mm of mineral wool at joist level. Many older Essex properties still have 100mm or less, so there is a real saving available.
Can I insulate between the rafters instead?
Yes, and you should if you want a usable warm loft. It needs a correctly detailed ventilation gap or a fully sealed warm roof build up. We specify which is right for your roof.

Amazing young kind guys, needed my roof done. I asked 5 other people and not only did these guys give the best price but they did such a clean job. Kept their promise, came on time, did the job, cleaned around and left. Amazing lads.

Would certainly recommend this company who replaced all our fascias and soffits as well as gutters etc. They tested all guttering etc before leaving. Very pleased with their work.
